BRIEF LITERARY REVIEW

In very moving dramatic sketches, Edewede re-interrogates issues concerning Female genital mutilation practices in Nigeria. It challenges supposed current assumptions on the evil of female circumcision as well as some traditional beliefs that initiated the practices.

The interspacing with dances and music, echoes of traditional theatre, makes this book one of the playwright's most realized plays.
